“Blue Bloods” star Donnie Wahlberg may work in the Big Apple, but his haaaaaht is still in the Hub. And that’s why he’s got a big grin on his face standing in front of the “Boston’s Finest” billboard on Broadway!

“Boston takes over Times Square!!!!” Wahlberg tweeted the other day with a shoutout to the show’s premiere date and network, because that’s what producers do.

As you are so aware by now, the former Dot rat is the executive producer of a gritty docudrama on members of the Boston Police Department that will debut Feb. 27 on TNT.

Donnie told the Track the tweet wasn’t a slap at New York. After all, he does live and work there while filming his faux CBS cop drama. So that would be 
bad …

“I just want Boston to have its day, too, and I am glad I’m the guy who is helping to make it happen,” he said. “It won’t heal my heart over the Patriots losing to the Giants twice. But it’s a start.”
