NKOTB Cruise 2012 Review

How do you explain the New Kids on The Block cruise 2012? One word “EPIC” or maybe “Surreal”! It’s the 4th Annual cruise! Yes, there were 3 cruises before this. As a past cruiser you expect the unexpected and that is exactly what everyone got. Five days of partying, laughing, joking, crying (happy tears), and creating new friendships.

Day 1 – WE ARE ON THE BOAT – what to do now? Door Decorations are a must! The theme of our door was “Twisted for Donnie”. We had to show love for our man, special thanks to Tattoo for all her hard work on putting it together, I just put it up! After the completion of the door it was time to sail away. As we approach the famous “LIDO” deck you could see the excitement in everybody’s eyes, you could see the smile on their faces. It was time to “LIVE IT UP” and “PARTY”, so let’s leave reality behind for just 5 days and do just that. We work hard, and now it’s time to let loose.

Night 1- First night of the cruise was “Red Carpet” where everyone looked their best! Beautiful dresses and evening gowns, the ladies definitely knew how to dress. This was also the night where you tested your tolerance (you know what I mean) let’s just say a lot of hangovers occurred.

Day 2 – I THINK I DRANK TOO MUCH… CONCERT IN THE SUN? – It is CONCERT time at Half Moon Cay Bahamas; the guys gave us their very best considering it felt like 120 degrees outside. Water and hats were a must but if you were smart and stood in the ocean you had NO complaints. Although the show did not last as long as expected not to many people were complaining, as everyone wanted to get in the water. After the concert the guys had fans participate in NKOTB beach games which was pretty funny watching these girls relay for prizes.

[ NKOTB ] Mark Wahlberg pretended to be in NKOTB

Mark Wahlberg used to pretend to be a member of his brother’s band New Kids on the Block.

The actor recalled a dark time in his life when he was serving a prison sentence while his sibling Donnie toured the world with the popular ’80s group.

The Fighter star was in the running to become a member of the band but his life took a different turn.

The Hollywood hunk added that he was mocked by his fellow inmates when he insisted he used to be part of NKOTB.

“I wind up going to jail and watching them [NKOTB] on TV, they’re making millions,” he told US chat show host David Letterman, adding he spent time in jail “for doing bad things”. “[I told my inmates] I was in that group [and they replied], ‘Well you’re the dumbest motherf**ker ever, cause now you’re in here!'”

[ NKOTBSB ] Philippines – Diary of a New Kids On The Block stalker

By Pam Pastor

I braved the lines at SM Tickets one afternoon and before the hordes of Lady Gaga-adoring people, declared my love for the New Kids On The Block, saying: “Miss, SVIP tickets please.”

Of course I had to get the best seats that my hard-earned money could buy. Since the New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys announced their comeback, I had been wanting to see their show. Every time I was headed to the US I would check their tour dates hoping I’d find myself in the same city as the tour leg—but no luck. Until now.

I Instagrammed my triumph and when friends started to comment about how expensive the tickets were, I said, “I owe it to my 11-year-old self. She was a good girl.”

Rewind
NKOTB’s 1992 Manila concert at Rizal Stadium was the first concert I ever attended. I was dressed to kill in NKOTB garb—I had on my NKOTB watch, a red shirt tucked into my NKOTB shorts, red socks and white sneakers. I thought my outfit was awesome and heck, I wasn’t the only one—all these older girls in the concert stopped to ask where I got my shorts.

Those shorts rocked—they were white and had red hearts and the boys’ faces and signatures printed all over.

Years later, it hit me—those weren’t shorts, they were boxers! Men’s boxers! I had worn men’s underwear to a concert. And I still felt no shame.

Back then my P750 ticket didn’t give me a good view of the boys. I had to stand on my seat and use my grandpa’s binoculars to see their faces clearly. That wasn’t going to happen this time.
